Egyptian State Security arrested Egyptian blogger Abdel-Kareem Nabil Seliman from his home on October 26, 2005. Abdel-Kareem writes a blog with the pseudonym Kareem Amer, and he was most probably detained for his thoughts that are mainly anti-Islam. Abdel Kareem is also a reporter for the Copts United website. This is very bad news for all of us Egyptian bloggers, especially those who choose to penetrate all taboos for the sake of their conscience.

What is wrong with the Egyptian government? They arrest a liberal like Abdel and, on the other hand, the Muslim Brotherhood are free to do what they want. This is a slap on the face to however much freedom there is in this country.

Please support Abdel Kareem by putting the “Free Abdel Kareem” banner on your blogs and websites.
